Faith Can Save You From Drowning

Almost everyone is familiar with the story of Jesus walking on the water. The story shows Christ on the waves walking towards the disciples and they are completely baffled by this concept.

"When the disciples saw him walking on the water they were terrified and they said 'It is a ghost' and they cried out in fear." Then Peter who saw him and wanted to come to him on the water. "Peter said to him 'Lord if it is you, command me to come to you on the water', and Jesus said, 'come' and Peter got out of the boat and walked on water and came towards Jesus. But seeing the wind he became frightened and began to sink, he cried out 'Lord save me.' Immediately Jesus stretched out his hand and took hold of him and said, 'You of little faith, why did you doubt?" Matthew 14:25-31

This passage shows us that at first Peter had all capabilities to walk on the water, Jesus simply said come to me and he began to walk out of the boat and across the surface of the water in the direction of Jesus. This is an astounding feet for anyone and a gift of faith, but Peter began to think about it and he became scared of the storm that surrounded them and he lost his faith and in an instant he fell and began to drown, this is the mystery of faith.

God gives us amazing gifts and abilities in our lives and would do anything for his people as long as they have faith. But this is the point of the this verse is to always have faith in God even in the times of fear. God will not abandon his people no matter what issues they face and so we should not abandon God when we do not find it suitable.
